We all care deeply about protecting our children from danger. But protecting our children from sexual harm is particularly difficult to talk about. What are we supposed to say? When? At what age?
To help parents educate and equip themselves, we are hosting a Shielding Innocence Workshop specifically for parents of preschoolers on October 20th. You may wonder: Isn’t my child too young for this kind of conversation? That’s exactly what Kelly Winkler and Caleb Grover will be addressing. We maintain Level 2 background checks including fingerprinting on all of our teaching staff. Teachers are required to complete a state-mandated course on Child Abuse Prevention and Reporting to be qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher. We staff every class with two teachers to ensure proper supervision and accountability of classroom interactions. Our classrooms, hallways, and playground are equipped with security cameras with a live feed to the WDS office. Protecting your children from harm while they are at school is very important to us.
