At Weekday School, we have several events throughout the year for preschoolers and their parents - Fun Fair, class picnics, field trips, etc. This month we have a special event for parents only. It’s our Spring Fundraiser at East End Market in the Audubon Park neighborhood. I would love for you to come! Here’s why.
East End is a delightful venue. You don’t have to cook or clean up afterwards. There will be live music and one-of-a-kind artwork from your children. (Insider info: The art is swoon-worthy.) We love children, right? But a night to just be a grown up instead of Mommy and Daddy is lovely as well. We even have several fabulous silent auction/raffle items including an iPad2, Fun Spot Party, a spa package and vacation spots.
Proceeds from the event go directly to making Weekday School a better place for children to grow and learn. In fact, with the funds raised last year, we were able to take our lead teachers to a national education conference in November AND purchase our new parent-teacher communication app, Kaymbu. I encourage you to purchase tickets before the April 6th deadline.
This month you can also expect to receive a sign-up notification for a spring conference with your child’s teacher. 3 and 4 Day Conferences will take place on April 25. There is no school that day, but there is childcare. 2 Day Conferences will take place on May 3. This is a regular day of school. Keep an eye on your inbox for all of the details.
I remain humbled to be a part of the Weekday School family, especially as we celebrate 65 years this school year. You and I know that growing older doesn’t necessarily mean that an organization (or a person for that matter) is growing wiser. One has to be intentional about aging well. That is certainly true at Weekday School. We can do what we do now because of the work that others have done before us.
I remain thankful to each of you for the many ways you have supported our school this year. Through the years, involved parents have been one of our hallmarks. Thank you for blessing our school in this way.
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
