Taking a Walk with God
Fall is quickly becoming my favorite time of year. Pumpkin products are in abundance, football season has begun and the anticipation of the first cold front grows each time a light breeze blows through the trees.
In this season of life with 3 young children, I find that there is an inverse relationship between my spare time and my need for quiet time with God. The more I need Him, the less time I seem to have available. During my search to find more time with God, an answer struck me so vividly - prayer! We can pray any time, all the time, for everything. For me right now it isn’t about sitting down for an hour of quiet time. It is about including God in every minute of my day through prayer.
There is something about the Fall that brings this prayer practice out in me. This season offers so many tangible things in nature that call for us to thank and praise God. My kids and I love to watch the way the moss dances when a breeze blows through the trees. We gather leaves and marvel and their distinction and perfection. And to this Floridan each cool breeze is reason enough to give thanks!
I encourage you to take a walk with God today. Include Him no matter how important or mundane the task. God loves you and he wants to be included in every inch of your day. I pray that we all have a little time this season to take in the breeze, give thanks and pray.
